Rockin Wedding….

I have photographed some amazing and unique weddings, but Melissa & Josh Sammons’s Wedding was not your typical event.  Ohhh where do I start? Let’s see, let me start with the ceremony… Pastor Don began my asking the “typical” is there anyone that objects to this wedding- THIS IS WHERE IT ALL BEGINS, the ENTIRE church, all in unison, stood up and proclaimed “WE DO!” and then “April Fools!”.  100 people in on this prank– LOVED IT!

Ohhhh but it doesn’t end there.  Melissa is a little taller then Josh, so the guys worked in a skit for the groomsmen to pass blocks down to the fun loving Groom Josh.  I was laughing so hard I had a hard time keeping my camera from shaking.  IS THERE MORE you ask? This was just the beginning.  Next, when Pastor Don asked Josh for Melissa’s ring – the Best Men (yes, 2 best men) had a little more fun then boys should!  Out of the back of the church comes this FLYING SAUCER thingy.  It zooms through the church to the stage, where they remove the ring.  And as if that wasn’t enough, the reception brought more laughter and tears.  The bridal party is announced as lights are lowered and an arch of glowsticks light the way for their entrance.

YOU WANT MORE? Ok… you asked.  The highlight of this wedding was the choreographed performance of the Groom and Groomsmen.  Melissa was ushered to the middle of the dance floor and sat in a chair where she was awaiting the removal of her garter.  You should have seen the look on her face as she was ambushed by the “boys” throwing a tumbling Groom (Josh) into the air towards her, dressed as Justin Bieber, lip-syncing the song ‘BABY’.  These boys had their moves down and ROCKED it!  I haven’t laughed this hard in a long time! I had tears streaming down my cheeks.  Thanks guys for asking me to be part of your day, and for a performance I will not easily forget!  LOVE YOU ALL!!!

Best wishes and God’s blessings for the newlyweds!

Jackie & Jenn…

I met Jackie while I was shooting another wedding (HI MEGAN & DELVON!!!).  She approached me and asked if I would consider shooting her wedding, to long-time girlfriend Jennifer.  “HECK YES!!! I WOULD BE HONORED”.  I couldn’t wait to hear the details.  Both will honoring their fathers that have passed with lighting and releasing paper lanterns in their memory.  Losing my father in 1997, I know the pain of their loss…and will have my Dad close at heart during their release.  Jim and I met Jenn and Jackie in Ferndale last Sunday, and spent a few hours with them, Angela and Andy (hi guys!).  They were kinda shy about openly showing PDA– but oh boy, did I fix that! They made me laugh so hard, they were so flippin’ funny together.  There is NO DOUBT these two belong together.  I can’t wait to celebrate with them (and capture every detail on film).  Love ya girls!!!!

AWESOME!!!! Jackie and Jen look PERFECT together. Congratulations!!!!

Niomi and Rob…

We met with Niomi and Rob in a quaint little park not too far from my home studio.  The weather was gorgeous and warm, trees were budding and we had the best time teasing Rob.  Rob is a “guy” all the way.  Not real excited about getting his picture taken… or having 2 female photographers teasing him either I am sure.  This is exactly what happens when Erin and I find out you are apprehensive about posing for us.  hehe.  Rob you know we love you! Well, with that said we did get to him and by the end of the evening he was a true “poser” in very sense of the word.  We haven’t laughed so hard in a long time.  Now…about Niomi! OMGosh, a true beauty.  Her eyes and hair are just amazing.  Such a sweet thing, so gorgeous and doesn’t even know it!  I adore her.  I can’t wait to see her in her wedding gown.  Their wedding ceremony and reception are to be at Weller’s Inn, one of our favorite vintage themed venues.

Home from an amazing vacation…

and now it’s time to get back down to business.  Couples are beginning to book their SUMMER 2013 WEDDINGS…and I am so excited! I love hearing about all their wonderful and unique plans.  I have a great surprise for all my current 2012 couples.  I have began to incorporate film photography into my wedding packages.  What does this mean? I will have 2 lead photographers (as always), but I will also be shooting in HI DEFINITION PROFESSIONAL FILM.  I had the chance to play while in Florida and I now remember why I loved photography back in high school!  I remember being on the high school yearbook staff for 2 years as a photographer.  Nan and I would roam all over the schools and during events snapping away.  It’s funny that our love of photography brought us even closer as friends in high school… and has lead us into our own photography professions.  After being in Florida for 9 days, I was almost ready to pack up my bags and move there.  I can just image the damage we could do together in Boca Raton! lol.

With all that said… I have also began to accept more destination weddings for 2012-2013 so if you are looking for a fun and sassy photo-artist, I am your girl!

HUGS to all!!
